Ball ready to bounce back

The much-anticiapted debut of Dudley's Jamie Ball in boxing's professional ranks will now take place on June 20 at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

The former Priory Park amateur was set to make his bow last Wednesday but had to pull the plug when the necessary paper work needed to enter the ring did not come through in time.

The 24-year-old was hoping to have the results of scans back in time to be granted his licence by the British Boxing Board of Control, but they didn't come back in time so he had no other option than to pull out.

Although disappointed, he did not get chance to show his skill off in front of his large band of supporters he is looking forward to being on the undercard for a British title fight.
