Firm achieves £1.1m turnover
A Halesowen maufacturing firm which started in a garage has grown from humble beginnings into a company which has generated a £1.1 million turnover in the last three months.
Hockley Pattern & Tool Co Ltd was founded by 62-year-old Jim Williams in 1979 in the garage of his home.
He built the company to its present status as a firm with a 20,000 sq ft base in Lodgefield Road, Halesowen.
The company, which has 41 employees, is now run by Jim's sons Neil, aged 37, and Gareth, 34.
It has recently spent £1.1million on state-of-the-art machinery and has secured a number of contracts in the aerospace industry. It was given a £195,000 grant by Advantage West Midlands and has forecasted by 2010 sales will be at £3.5m with net profit at around £400,000.
Another 14 jobs are due to be created by 2010.
