Entrepreneur set for trophy

A successful Cradley businessman has been shortlisted for an award which celebrates Asian achievements across the region.

Kamal Uddin joined his family business Eurowire Containers 17 years ago and has developed it into a leading maufacturer of wire products and equipment for the food sector with clients including Greggs and Greencore.

Kamal has been shortlisted for the Entrepreneur Excellence Jewel Award at the Lloyds TSB Central Jewel Awards which take place on Saturday June 21 at the NEC Hilton in Birmingham.

Recently the company, which employs 18 people and is based on Maypole Fields, won contracts to produce products previously manufactured in Poland and China and Kamal believes the firm will double its turnover this year.
